Highly satisfied at Kame NYC, a Japanese eatery and ramen shop in Chelsea serving both classics and new dishes to satisfy all foodies. Their classics like tonkotsu ramen and karaage are done very well - hitting all the good notes in savory, rich, and succulent flavors. Also love that they had an onsen style egg instead of a standard soft boiled! My personal favorite was the homemade gyoza which was flat for extra crispness and the salmon don, which is a great dish for all seasons and the perfect mix for seafood lovers. I also found it interesting that they had impossible meat on the menu as an option for our vegan friends 🫶. While the weather is still warm, check out their cold sake options or yuzu lemonade to complete your spread 🔥 Will definitely be back to this one! #foodiehui — 📍[Hosted] Kame NYC (Chelsea) • Karaage, Homemade Gyoza, Kakuni Bun, Gyu Bun, Tonkotsu Ramen, Salmon Don, Yuzu Lemonade, Yuzu Ice Tea, Plum Lemonade . . . . #japanesefood #asianeats #ramen #yuzu #seafood #Chelsea #newyork #nyc #nycfood #nyceats #nycresturants #newforkcity #foodie #foodblogger #eatingnyc #foodphotography #dailyfoodfeed #lovefood #ilovenewyork

Salt & Straw east coast debut ✨ opened today (!!) officially on the upper west side with a line already out the door. They’re serving several classics (honey lavender!) and NYC limited items/collabs with local shops, like the pastrami on rye with Carnegie Deli (surprisingly yummy). Grab one of their pints or a pup cup for your furry friend when stopping by ✨ Note despite the line the staff were super efficient in keeping things moving along! #foodiehui — 📍Salt & Straw (360 Amsterdam Ave, New York, NY 10024) • Honey Lavender, Pastrami on Rye . . . . #icecream #sweets #dessert #newyork #nyc #nycfood #nyceats #foodie
Chillier days are coming so what you need is a big bowl of SOUP 🗣️ 酸菜鱼 (Suan Cai Yu) is a Sichuan based Chinese dish that features some type of fish with pickled mustard greens. What you get is a hot, sour, tangy, full bodied soup with plenty of veg and of course fish, perfect with a bowl of rice. Personally this is one of my favorite Chinese dishes of all time, and it’s sooo underrated when people think of Chinese food. Nai Brother in LIC does it right and serves big portions. Depending on your protein, the large is $25-$28 and easily feeds 3-4, while the small is $15-$18. They also have several pickled sides and apps, which they sell containers of to take home. If you can handle the heat, the green pepper or signature sauerkraut with the basa fish are the way to go for the most authentic experience. Casual dining area and ok without reservation! #foodiehui — 📍Nai Brother LIC (奈哥老坛酸菜鱼) • Sunshine Tomato (日照番茄) & Green Pepper Sauerkraut (青麻辣酸菜) with Basa Fish (巴沙鱼片), Pickled Chicken Feet, Spicy Sauce with Tofu Skin . . . . #seafood #chinesefood #chinese #lic #soup #newyork #nyc #nycfood #nyceats #nycresturants #foodie
Ft. Willow from City Roots NYC and Chef Guy Vaknin. Like their other counterparts, they serve a 100% vegan menu, this time in American comfort food flavors. Several classics like the mac and cheese, sandwiches, burgers, steaks, etc. but recreated with creative takes and substitutes to ensure it’s 100% meatless. My personal favorite was the ‘lamb’ burger, which had amazing juiciness, texture, and flavor all around. Wasn’t as big a fan of the french dip or mac & cheese, mainly because I didn’t enjoy as much how their ‘cheese’ texture was. Anixi still trumps as my personal favorite, but highly recommend the burgers here if you have a chance to visit! Walk in ok. #foodiehui — 📍Willow • Truffle Mac & Cheese, Lamb Burger, French Dip . . . . #vegan #vegetarian #chelsea #newyork #nyc #nycfood #nyceats #nycresturants #foodie
Okonomi Yuji Ramen hailing as a favorite from Brooklyn has their ongoing pop up in Manhattan until 10/27! They have a scarce menu that highlights the Japanese brunch set or unagi eel bowl, where you can choose from their fish selection of the day and pair with three or five sides. They are also serving two types of ramen during their lunch and dinner service. I personally found the sake marinated salmon very aromatic and flavorful, but the sides and miso soup a little more underwhelming in flavor. Portion overall is also small if you’re a big eater. Nonetheless, very nice to try! If you want to see them in Manhattan, definitely give them some support and make a reservation before the pop up ends :) #foodiehui — 📍Okonomi Yuji and Ramen (110 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10016) • Yakizakana Set (Gosai - 5 sides) . . . . #japanese #japanesefood #seafood #brunch #popup #newyork #nyc #nycfood #nyceats #nycresturants #foodie
Was on my bucket list for awhile, and Appas Pizza is definitely living up to the hype 🤩 Their Korean pizza combos are top tier, and their sides don’t miss even as a pizza parlour. Definitely a fan of the sweet potato crust, which is gooey, sweet, yet crispy and savory. Lots of unique drinks and cocktails like the Melona Frappe, perfect for kicking back with some friends. Located off First Ave and 13th street. Sissy’s bday dinner at Hutong - an elevated Chinese fine dining establishment with a stunning art decor space - specializing in contemporary dim sum and their special flaming roast duck. The whole roast duck will set you back $150 (probably the steepest I’ve seen in the city) but is flamed and carved table side, allowing you to enjoy some visual flare and aroma to whet your appetite. It’s served traditionally with steamed crepe wrappers, cucumber, scallion, and duck sauce, with the remainder stir fried for lettuce wraps at the end. It’s costly, but I agree probably in the top 3 ducks that I’ve had in the city - perfectly crispy, thick portions of actual meat, and a hint of smokiness from the flames. Their other shareables like the noodles and mapo tofu were good but quite simple. The dim sum items were definitely of higher caliber and technicality in all aspects from flavor to texture. Overall a great meal for a special occasion, but I would leave it at that. Reservations recommended, and I suggest going with a group to split the whole duck. #foodiehui — 📍Hutong • Wagyu Beef Mille-Feuille, Jade Heart, Crab & Prawn Salad, Dynasty Sour, Whole Flaming Duck, Kung Pao Iberico Pork, Mapo
How much crab roe can one consume before they turn orange?? 🤔 I love crab roe so much - so much umami and flavor just on its own and so perfect with rice or noodles. Funny story - this is a collab but I had been here 3 times on my own prior already (was low key gate keeping) but when they reached out for the collab I agreed just so I had an excuse to go again 🙈 FYI new location in New Jersey - 1783 Lincoln Hwy, Suite 201, Edison, NJ 08817 (above Hmart!) The definition of “I know a place” is Blue Blossom - an elevated Chinese restaurant in Midtown. They are newly opened by the amazing team behind Che Li, boasting an elegant dining space inspired by “青花” - blossoms and blue porcelain. My top you-can’t-miss-item is their dim sum, especially the signature bao platter! Their flavors are so unique, beautiful colors, and wonderfully pleated, with my personal favorite being Cheese Xiao Long Bao. Definitely save if you’re looking to impress! if u love me pls get me a chicken sandwich from dcp Finally got to try Double Chicken Please and it’s fireee. Considered potentially one of the best bars in the world, they have something for everyone with their artistically crafted cocktails. Huge fan of the key lime pie drink! Tastes like key lime pie!! Sorcery frfr. Also one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve had hands down. Go for the hot honey with Thai basil for no regrets (or their Taiwanese popcorn chicken if you’re just looking to snack). I personally think it’s a fun and unique experience despite not being a big drinker. Just FYI be prepared for extensive wait or line up early. I arrived 45 min before opening on a Saturday and managed to be seated at opening, or you can try your hand at making a resy online. #foodiehui — 📍Double Chicken Please • Hot Honey Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich, Red Eye Gravy, Thai Curry, Key Lime Pie, Custard Bun, Pear Bamboo . . . . #nyc #nycfood #nyceats #foodblogger #eatingnyc #newyorklife #bar #drinks #friedchicken #foodies
Highlighting another Thai eatery in Hell’s Kitchen! Elephant Ear leans into their theme with elephant-inspired decor, where you can enjoy a fun drink like a Pandan Cooler or Mai Tai amongst the cozy, warm tones. Their menu highlights authentic Thai eats and a lot of specialty dishes. We loved the aroma of the Thai spices in the steamed mussels and were impressed by the umami, salty duck egg sauce with the sautéed seafood. The clay pot garlic rice was perfectly warm and filling (can never say no to garlic rice!!) and would highly recommend from the specials. The pandan drink was quite sweet for me but has a notable pandan flavor, which I don’t always appreciate from pandan drinks/menu items elsewhere. Overall a solid eatery that I would go back to again! No reservations necessary. #foodiehui #foodie #thaifood #nyc #nyclife
📍Sinsa • Korean American wine bar in East Village opened this year and recently added to the 2025 Michelin guide. Sister to Rice Thief and features primarily shareable plates, paying homage to traditional Korean flavors. Thought everything was solid but nothing to go out of your way for. Recommend the scallop crudo for an interesting/brighter take. Cute as a date spot or casual catch ups over wine. Reservation recommended! -Scallop Crudo ($28), Gogi Jeon ($17), Bibim Guksu ($24), Don Katsu Au Poivre ($27)
Save this for your next Chinese eatery! Little Alley invokes nostalgia through their traditional Shanghai based cuisine, ranging from aromatic stews, braised pork dishes, to, of course, dim sum dumplings. They’ve been included in the Michelin Guide 6 years in a row, a testament to their cuisine. Highly recommend the chicken in chili oil (house made!) and the fish fillet in rice wine sauce. They also have weekday lunch specials starting at $12 and daily dim sum happy hour 11-2:45 PM and 5-7 PM ($8 each). Pair with one of their creative cocktails and you’ve got a solid night! Ungatekeeping one of my favorite hot pot places in NYC to help you get through these rainy days 🌧️ I always appreciate the simplicity of Chong Qing Wharf BK for their AYCE style hot pot. It’s $63.95 pp for 2 hours, which will include your pot/broth, sauce bar, unlimited drinks, and of course AYCE ingredients. Your meal will include 1 premium ingredient (has changed seasonally for me but I’ve had geoduck, lobster, stone crab as offerings), sashimi, meats, veggies/carbs, cooked appetizers, and a choice of dessert at the end (ice jelly or ice cream). There are a few items that cost extra (like boba), but the regular menu offering is more than plenty and has high quality offerings already (such as the snow crabs!). No frills with tiered meal sets or a la carte - just keep ordering and eating what you like! It’s not the cheapest and admittedly in the boonies of Brooklyn, but the value and quality has kept me returning for now a third visit lol. This one is for all my real foodies out there and worthy of a visit. #foodiehui — 📍[Hosted] Chong Qing Wharf BK (6324 Fort Hamilton Parkway, Brooklyn, NY 11219) • AYCE Hotpot ($63.95 pp), location also in NJ . . . . #nyc #nycfood #nyceats #nycbit

‼️NEW matcha tiramisu and matcha brûlée crepes at @T-Swirl Crepe. T-Swirl serves Japanese crepes made to order, which have crispy edges but soft middle as compared to a traditional French crepe. They use fresh ingredients to whip up either a savory or sweet crepe - great for snacking or even as a meal (we thought the smoked salmon was perfect for this)! We know NYC is a simulation because where else would people wait two plus hours and pay $40 for cheese pizza 🙂↔️ Ceres has been the hot topic in the NYC pizza community since debuting off Mott St this year. Opened by Eleven Madison Park alums and rated a 9.2 by critic Dave Portnoy, this pizza is SUCH a struggle to get. Only open Wed-Sun. Pre-orders start at 11:30 and IN PERSON SAME DAY orders taken only. 5 pie choices and you can order only whole pies. Average quoted time for takeout was 1.5-2.5 hours, and they only make ~150 pies right now, often selling out by 6. Looked like service was a bit quicker if you chose to dine in though. Plus it’s probably the most expensive cheese pizza I’ve ever had. Verdict: It’s a good pizza. Hard to say *best* in NYC given personal preferences and so many other creative options, but definitely top 10, top 5? # 1 for me in crisp and ingredients category, to the point that the price tag might actually be justifiable. And it HAS to be eaten fresh. 30 min later the wow factor from the crisp was already gone 😔. Unfortunately cannot justify the wait. It’s a good pizza, but I feel like I should be able to get a slice and go 😩. Would you ever pay this mu
Checking off another spot on my infinite NYC to eat list ✅ Radio Bakery has gotten so much praise for the foccacia and other pastries where they end up with lines down the block some days. Maybe because of those expectations I was a little bit underwhelmed? Great bread and great balance, but I’m more of the opinion that fresh bread straight out of the oven that’s still warm is hard to beat haha. Still loved it regardless! Personally I’m not much of a matcha connoisseur, but I love the occasional cup now and then. Finally made it out to 12 Matcha which has had insane lines since they opened. Managed to pop in on a weekday morning (~10 AM) with no line. Overall - I actually loved it! Their menu is simple, and the matcha didn’t taste too watered down to me. The basque cheesecake was super creamy and rich of matcha flavor, and I’ve heard good things about their ice cream too. The interior design is quite pretty, and there’s decent seating with both an upstairs and downstairs. WiFi also available for people using it as a work spot. I honestly think the popularity and lines have ruined the vibe a little 😅 as it’s such a serene space, that part of the enjoyment is being able to sit a bit and enjoy your matcha. There’s nothing TOO crazy that I would go out of my way just to stand in line or get it to go. Have you tried this iconic spot? A recap of probably what is still my favorite kbbq spot in NYC at Nubiani ❤️ Their packages are steep but are plentiful in food + refillable sides and complimentary soft serve at the end. Service is top notch, although I got a rec to go to the Midtown location (as opposed to Ktown) to be less rushed. High quality beef of course and other items, like their naengmyeon, are done surprisingly well. Had this one for a special occasion (ty to my dear 😚). Reservations recommended!
